By now we’re all aware that the Internet has provided the ability to cross boundaries that were previously out of reach due to distance. Working with someone in another country used to be unheard of up until about 15 years ago. However nowadays it’s easy to cross the divides and connect with people across the world. That’s the beauty (and sometimes) danger of the Internet.
Even if something is possible, does it mean you want to (or should) do it? Let’s take Web Design for example. Do you want to do business with a company that is remote? In our estimation that decision depends more on the reputation of the company rather than the location. For instance, our company actually has offices in San Diego, Victoria BC, and a couple of others outside of North America (search for Web Design Victoria BC if you want to find us in Canada ). We can actually meet with people who are located in these areas. However, we service clients across the globe. We also maintain an A rating with the BBB locally. So the reality (in our humble opinion) is that you can hire a lousy company locally just as easily as you can remotely. It’s the reputation of the company that makes the decision on whether you should use them or not.
